The Joseph Trilogy · Book 1
Joseph — The Dreamer
by Terje Tesaker Hystad
Loved by his father, hated by his brothers — a boy sold into slavery, raised to rule an empire, who spends a generation deciding whether to forgive the brothers who betrayed him.
Joseph — The Dreamer is an ambitious historical novel that achieves what few biblical retellings have managed: it takes the most well-known family drama in Western literature and makes it vivid, physical and political in a way that feels genuinely new.
You know the story from Genesis. But this is not Christian devotional literature. It is a political thriller embedded in a family drama — in the tradition of Hilary Mantel's Wolf Hall and Madeline Miller's Song of Achilles. Serious, layered, adult literary fiction with broad appeal. Available as paperback, e-book and audiobook. The English audiobook is narrated by American storyteller Kim Rasmussen.
