I am a Norwegian writer and preacher. For years I led a folk high school — a Norwegian institution where young people spend a year learning the things no one examines them in: how to live, what to believe, who to become. That year changes people. Watching it happen is most of the reason I write what I write.

I write two kinds of books.

The Living Foundation is a series about what a faith is built on. It follows the six elements named in Hebrews 6, one book at a time, and it is written for anyone tired of performing — who wants something that holds when the feeling goes.

The Joseph trilogy is fiction. It tells the story from Genesis as what it actually is: a political thriller inside a family, set in an Egypt that ran on grain and fear. It is not devotional writing, and it is not written only for readers who share my faith.

Both are the same thing from opposite ends — a person under pressure, deciding who to become.
